Diamond Awards, New Events and More!

Dear Esteamed Family,

We are so excited to share the latest news with you from Esteamed Coffee! The recent snow may have caused a few late opens but we've enjoyed keeping you all warm with our delicious drinks and tasty treats.

This past month we had the opportunity to celebrate an exciting win for our team as well as kick off our fun new seasonal drinks, art, and merchandise! As we sled into February, we're looking forward to new events, but also saying a bittersweet goodbye to a valued member of our team. Now sit back, relax, and enjoy the Esteamed Express!

Esteamed Coffee Wins Gold at the Diamond Awards!

We are thrilled to announce that Esteamed Coffee won the top 2025 Diamond Award for "Best Coffeehouse" from 5 West Magazine! Voted on by community members throughout the Triangle area, these awards highlight the best in business across five western Wake County towns.

Did you know that this was Esteamed Coffee's fourth gold Diamond Award in a row? These awards are a testament not just to the amazing support of our community, but also to the incredible abilities of our team. We are so grateful to everyone who voted for Esteamed Coffee and who puts their trust in us every day. We are looking forward to our fifth award in 2026!

New Life Skills Events

Thanks to a collaboration between Esteamed Coffee and the Town of Cary's Specialized Recreation and Inclusion Department, we are excited to be offering a new Life Skills series as part of our social events calendar! Many of these events will be sponsored by the Louise R. Lester Foundation, making them free for attendees!

Kicking off with a Speed Friending event on February 20th, these special activities will offer valuable skill building opportunities in a safe and social setting. Future events are expected to cover topics such as Self Defense, Taking Care of Our Bodies, Conversations with Cops, Cooking for Ourselves, and Safety Online.

Events will be posted on our website and Facebook page, as well as shared in that month's newsletter. Space is limited, so be sure to sign up early! We hope to see you at an event soon!

Mission Moment

Congratulations, Michael!

We wanted to take a moment to recognize the incredible growth of our Floor Supervisor, Michael, as he prepares to move on from Esteamed Coffee. Here is Michael's mother, Lynne:

"Michael has worked at Esteamed Coffee since it opened four years ago. His growth in confidence, skills, responsibilities, and friendships has been amazing to watch! He has recently transferred these attributes to both attending the Wake Tech program for Pharmacy Technicians and learning  how to drive.

He has done very well in his classes and has been offered a part time job at Harris Teeter. He has also finished his advanced driving classes and has newfound independence. Esteamed has not eliminated his differences, but it has allowed him to thrive and persevere and challenge himself to create an independent life full of ‘possumbilities’ (if you know, you know."

When Michael started at Esteamed, it was difficult for him to be in the same room with others. He would frequently need to excuse himself for five minute breaks, and struggled to interact with the public. During his time with Esteamed, he has been promoted to Floor Supervisor, started handling bank deposits, and become a leader among his peers, training all our new staff with patience and confidence. We are so incredibly proud of his growth over the last four years and can't wait to see where he goes next!

Michael's last day with Esteamed Coffee is February 15th. Please be sure to stop by and wish him well on his next adventure!
