Four Years of Brewing Joy

On December 17th, we celebrated our four year anniversary at Esteamed Coffee! We can hardly believe it's been this long since we opened our blue door to the public and served our first lattes.

Esteamed Coffee was born out of a desire to provide opportunities to adults with disabilities in our community, showcasing their unique talents and creating a warm and welcoming environment where everyone is included. In the past four years, we have been able to do just that.

Since our opening day, we have shone a spotlight on the inclusive neighborhood that is the Town of Cary. We have provided employment services to 28 adults with disabilities and art selling opportunities to 32 artists and artist collectives that identify with the disability community. We have seen over 650 registrations for our social events which encourage independence and relationship building, and supported 10 employees in creating their own EsTEAMers products to sell for full team bonuses. We have also worked with dozens of volunteers of all abilities, providing valuable and transferrable job skills.

Thank you as always for your unwavering support over the past four years, whether you choose us for your morning cup of coffee, donate to our nonprofit, volunteer with us, participate in fundraising events, or even just spread the word. You have made all of these successes possible, and we couldn't be more grateful.

Finally, we are so excited for the future of Esteamed Coffee, which includes new workforce development programming, additional avenues of support for adults with disabilities seeking education or job training, getting our mission out into the community, and the potential expansion of space and services. Be sure to stay tuned and follow us on social media for updates!

Mission Moment

Learning New Skills!

Ryan, Barista

Have you noticed a new face behind the register lately? That's right - our very own barista Ryan has started learning how to be a cashier! At Esteamed Coffee, we pride ourselves on developing a strong and versatile team. Once a team member perfects one area of their job, it's on to the next!

Better still, team members are trained in new skills by their peers who are already experts in their roles, developing leadership skills among the staff. Our employees are always learning and growing, and this type of cross-training is no exception.

As we said in our assumptions video, "At Esteamed Coffee, we assume that we can so maybe we will!" Be sure to congratulate Ryan on his new skills the next time you see him ringing up another happy customer. Way to go, Ryan!
