Inclusive Merchandise, Manager Hiring, and More!
Dear Esteamed Family,
We are so excited to share the latest news with you from Esteamed Coffee! Last month, we bid farewell to our Floor Supervisor Michael, who is moving to Chapel Hill and pursuing his dream of working as a Pharmacy Technician. We are so proud of all he's accomplished and can't wait to hear about his next adventure!
This March, we are excited to showcase some new inclusive vendors we have been partnering with. We are also looking for a new Shift Manager to help support our team - could it be you or someone you know? If so, be sure to apply soon! Now sit back, relax, and enjoy the Esteamed Express!

Supporting other organizations that serve adults with disabilities has been a passion of Esteamed Coffee since we first opened our doors in December of 2020. Products from vendors such as The Arc of Greensboro, Da Bombs by Morgan Tibbens, John's Crazy Socks and Spectrum Designs have graced our shelves with dog treats, bath and beauty supplies, footwear, hats and more.
Over the past year, we have made an effort to continue onboarding and partnering with companies that provide employment for adults with disabilities. One of our recently onboarded partners is local organization TheGDay, who printed our newest t-shirts (debuting March 18th)! TheGDay was started as a social organization by recent UNC graduate Colby, who bonded with his roommate (and our former volunteer) Eliana while still in school. Today, TheGDay employs adults with disabilities and trains them in creating custom promotional products.
In addition to TheGDay, we have also added inclusive treats to our menu over the past year! Whether you're looking for tasty Indian snack mixes by Rishi Snacks or delicious popcorn (sweet, savory, or both!) from Popcorn for the People, we have you covered.
Through our inclusive merchandise initiatives, guests can rest assured that practically any purchase made at Esteamed Coffee won't just support our local cause, but will also provide economic and employment opportunities to adults with disabilities all over the country.

Our Local Art program features creators from all over North Carolina, but did you know that we also have some incredibly talented artists behind the counter at Esteamed Coffee?
While Head Cashier Austin's photography has been showcased successfully for the past few years, we recently worked with team members Marisa and Karen to help them sell their handmade jewelry.
Karen started creating jewelry as a fun project with her grandmother’s friend when she was just 12 years old. She now creates her pieces all on her own. Karen recycles vintage jewelry from estate and yard sales, as well as repurposes other items people may consider trash to create new beautiful pieces. Making jewelry has allowed Karen to have a creative outlet and release stress.
A 2017 report from the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Arts, Health and Wellbeing states, “Creative activities have proven benefits for learning disabled people, such as helping to focus the mind, enabling individuals to express their feelings, and often providing greater community inclusion depending on the chosen activity.” We are so grateful we have the chance to foster the creative arts in our state and, closer to home, in our staff. Be sure to check out Karen's jewelry before it leaves shelves at the end of the month!
Your donation helps Esteamed Coffee's staff and all people with disabilities have a place where belonging meets community.
